On 29 November 2025, the internationally acclaimed Naseer Shamma will take the stage at the Dubai Opera.

A world-renowned oud virtuoso and musical entrepreneur, Naseer Shamma has elevated Arabic instrumental music to global acclaim.

He is known for profound compositions such as “Sukûn al-layl fī Baghdad,” “No News Is Good News (Reverb Version),” and “Resolution Song (Iraq),” Shamma continues to define the emotional depth and expressive power of the oud in contemporary music.

His career, decorated with over 70 international honors, began with the “Best Emotional Melody in Iraq” award upon his graduation, followed by consecutive honors from the Iraqi Artist Syndicate (1988–1990). Among his many accolades are “Best Artist in Iraq” (1994), the Royal British Academy Award (1998), and the Rotterdam Arab Festival Award, reflecting decades of global recognition.
