Steinway Series: Ravel. Svetlana Andreeva
On 11 January 2026, the Dubai Opera Studio welcomes the remarkable pianist Svetlana Andreeva for an evening of poetic refinement and shimmering musical color of French composer Maurice Ravel. Hailed as one of the most compelling artistic voices of her generation, Andreeva brings to Dubai a career shaped by extraordinary international success - from her early Grand Prix win at the Rosario Marciano International Piano Competition in Vienna to her triumphant First Prize at the 16th Orléans International Piano Competition in 2024.
Born in Dzhankoy on the Crimean peninsula and trained in Russia under distinguished mentors at the Central Music School and Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory, Andreeva has since performed across the various cities and countries, earning acclaim for her intellectual depth, expressive nuance, and crystalline technique. Her recent recordings, including Synesthesia and Mysteria, showcase her gift for bridging eras and illuminating contemporary music with rare insight.
The evening’s program celebrates the brilliance of Maurice Ravel, one of France’s most innovative and influential composers. Known for his exquisite craftsmanship, shimmering harmonies, and mastery of orchestral and pianistic color, Ravel created music of both refined elegance and profound emotional resonance. His works remain essential pillars of 20th-century repertoire.
For her Dubai debut, Andreeva turns to the luminous world of the composer, performing Le tombeau de Couperin (The Tomb of Couperin), Mirors (Mirrors) and Pavane pour une infante défunte (Pavane for a Dead Princess) masterworks revered for their elegance, delicacy, and emotional restraint.
Experience the second edition of Steinway Prizewinner Concert Series at Dubai Opera Studio, in partnership with the esteemed Steinway & Sons. The piano recital will be performed on a Dubai Opera Limited Edition piano by Steinway & Sons.
About Svetlana Andreeva (pianist)
„Here to my mind, we have a distinct and unique musical phenomenon and charismatic personality. Here we have a player whose human fabric is utterly possessed by the nature of the sound she is producing, entering spiritually and physically into it. A very special musician indeed of a most particular sensibility. “
- Michael Moran, official reviewer of the Paderewski International Piano Competition
