VIP Classical - Cultural Music Circle | December
In dedication to the celebration of UAE National Day, SAMIT Event Group is proud to present the latest edition of VIP Classical – Cultural Music Circle, featuring a spectacular classical concert at Dubai Opera Studio in Downtown Dubai. This special event will showcase the talents of the internationally renowned pianist Andrey Gugnin, a resident of the Netherlands.
Hailed by Gramophone as a performer with an “extraordinarily versatile and agile technique, which serves an often inspired musical imagination”, Gugnin is the winner of the prestigious Sydney International Piano Competition, 12th International German Piano Award, and Classic Piano International Competition, while also being a recipient of the BBC Music Magazine’s Instrumental Award.
Increasingly in demand as an artist, he has performed with notable orchestras worldwide, such as the London Philharmonic Orchestra, Danish Radio Orchestra, the Mariinsky Symphony Orchestra, the Netherlands Symphony Orchestra, Utah Symphony, West Australian Symphony Orchestra and the Sydney Symphony, appearing at an expanding list of venues that includes Vienna’s Musikverein, Carnegie Hall in New York, Sydney Opera House, the Louvre in Paris, Tokyo Metropolitan Art Space and Asahi Hamarikyu Hall, and many more. In addition to his many recordings, Gugnin’s Shostakovich Concertos (Delos International, 2007) were also selected to feature on the soundtrack of Steven Spielberg’s Oscar-winning film Bridge of Spies.
In celebration of UAE National Day, this concert will honour the UAE’s heritage with a blend of classical masterpieces and works by contemporary Emirati composer Ihab Darwish. The pianist’s eclectic program promises a memorable evening of musical brilliance for audiences of all ages.
