NYO Camerata, Concert Band & Prize-Winning Soloists
The Encore Performing Arts Series of Concerts with the Royal Grammar School Guildford Dubai continues in the intimate setting of the Studio on 26th April 2025. The incredible National Youth Orchestra (NYO) will be presenting its wonderful Senior Strings Camerata, Concert Band, Prize-Winning soloists and Concerto Competition Finalists on stage for a rousing musical programme.
This year marks the seventh anniversary of the National Youth Orchestra, which was founded in 2018 with just four original musicians and has reached over 200 members from over 30 countries, from ages 5-18, all from the local community in the UAE - and has quickly established itself as the largest and most prestigious youth orchestra in the region.
The Camerata will be conducted by UAE-based Conductor and Composer Mr Jonathan Barrett and by acclaimed Finnish violinist and Co-Founder Ms Eva Gräsbeck, Head of Strings. The NYO Concert Band will be conducted by British Bassoonist Ms Jacqueline Hayter, Head of Winds.
Amira Fouad, Co-Founder and Artistic Director of the National Youth Orchestra said: “We are delighted to present our leading young musicians and Solo Concerto Finalists and Prize winners on the stage at Dubai Opera’s Studio. This will be a double celebration for our orchestra as we will also be marking a tremendous year for The National Youth Orchestra as we make history as the first orchestra from the UAE to receive an official invitation to perform at the world-renowned Carnegie Hall in New York City in June 2025.”
In the Studio, the National Youth Orchestra will perform a magical, mixed programme of music from Vivaldi, Mozart and Sarasate, to modern music by Aha!
